Aspen Medical has been engaged by the Australian Government to establish Aged Care Emergency Retrieval Teams (ACERTs) to provide a workforce surge capacity or a core team for aged care services that do not have capacity or capability to continue service delivery due to the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Aspen Medical establish ACERTs in each State and Territory.
The first stage of an ACERT’s response is to contact the aged care service immediately to identify risks and needs and to be on site with within 24 hours (or if distance prevents this, as soon as practicable) of notification by the Australian Government of an impacted aged care service.
Our teams will conduct an initial assessment of the severity of the COVID-19 outbreak and its impact on the aged care service. This will determine the configuration of ACERT staff required, with full deployment of the ACERT to commence within 24 hours, and a full-time on-site capability within 48 hours, and in any case no later than 72 hours, after the initial notification.
